The Maintenance Trainer application provides tools for creating practical exercises by utilizing real-time interactive 3D equipment simulation. The software enables virtual hands-on practice of tasks and procedures. Maintenance Trainer is designed for students learning how to operate and maintain equipment in onshore classrooms. In addition, the software can also be used by more experienced technical personnel wishing to refresh their knowledge offshore before performing maintenance of real equipment.

Maintenance Trainer visualizes equipment with the highest level of detail based on CAD drawings, allowing students to become fully familiarized with all parts of the equipment.

Training can be enhanced with schematics, sound, pictures and videos showing real equipment.

Training steps

Familiarization
Activity: Students learn about the main parts of the equipment, their location and their function.
Outcome: Students can locate specific parts and state their purpose.

Operations
Activity: Students learn how the equipment works by watching and interacting with a 3D animation.
Outcome: Students understand how the equipment works and how parts interact with each other.

Removal and Installation
Activity: Students learn procedures that involve taking equipment apart and putting it back together.
Outcome: Students can remove and install parts in the correct sequence.

Benefits:

  • Accelerates training
